A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Governor Printz Blvd. in Brandywine Hundred Wednesday morning police said.
WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: A bicyclist was seriously injured after being struck by a vehicle on Governor Printz Blvd. in Brandywine Hundred Wednesday morning Delaware State Police said.
Police say the bicyclist, a 19-Year-Old male, tried to cross Gov Printz Blvd without utilizing the crosswalk and failed to yield right of way with having a stop sign.
“A 2011 Chevy Impala operated by a 77 year old female was traveling south on Governor Printz and was unable to avoid the collision and struck the bicyclist.,” said police spokesman Jason Hatchell. “The victim was transported to an area hospital and treated for an injury to his lower extremity.”
New Castle County Paramedics arrived at the crash scene around 9:00 a.m. and after treating the victim, he was flown by a Delaware State Police aircraft to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.
