WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: After blending in with spectators at a crime scene, police arrest man who is now facing charges with a Tuesday evening shooting.
Wilmington Police say the shooting happened on Tuesday July 13, 2021, at approximately 5 p.m. in the city’s west side. Police say, patrol officers were called to the 1300 block of West 6th Street in reference to a shooting that had just occurred.
Arriving officers located a 48-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to a local area hospital in stable condition after being treated at the scene by EMS.

The case was assigned to Detective Kevin Murphy of the Criminal Investigations Division and through the course of his investigation, Detective Murphy identified Allen as a suspect and obtained arrest warrants., police said.
Allen has been charged with Assault (First Degree), Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony, and Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon. He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $108,000 cash-only bail.
