Arriving patrol officers discovered a 27-year-old male, a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old female suffering from gunshot wounds.
CLAYMONT, DE (DNTV): Two are dead including a 16-Year-Old boy following a mass shooting in Claymont that also injured two others New Castle County Police said.
Police were dispatched Wednesday night around 9:40 p.m. to the area of Balfour Ave, in the community of Knollwood for a report of a shooting.
Arriving patrol officers discovered a 27-year-old male, a 16-year-old male and a 19-year-old female suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency first aid was provided by the officers and EMS personnel however the two males were pronounced dead at a local area hospital., said police.
Later, an additional 18-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound arrived at a local area hospital via a private vehicle.
According to police spokesman Michel Eckerd, “Officers determined that this male was also shot on Balfour Avenue during this incident.,” “Medical staff listed both the 19-year-old female and 18-year-old male in critical condition.”
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit is conducting the investigation.
On Friday, July 16, 2021, police identified the two victims as 27-year-old Nathan Smith and 16-year-old Jasir Brown.
