New Castle County Police say they are investigating a shooting in Swanwyck Estates near New Castle after officers found a 19-Year-Old suffering from gunshot wounds.
NEW CASTLE (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: New Castle County Police are investigating a shooting that injured a 19-Year-Old man in the Swanwyck Estates community near New Castle Monday night.
Police say officers were dispatched to the intersection of Glen and Dyer Avenue shortly after 9:00 p.m. for a report of a shooting.
Arriving officers located a 19-year-old male who was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his upper torso. He was treated at the scene by EMS and New Castle County Paramedics before being transported to a local area hospital in serious condition.
Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and began investigating.
Police did not release a motive for the shooting but said, “This is an active and ongoing investigation, future updates to follow.”
