Police investigating fatal motorcycle crash on Moores Lane Tuesday morning

Police say the 19-year-old driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by the officers.

NEW CASTLE (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: New Castle County Police are investigating a fatal motorcycle crash that claimed the life of a 29-Year-Old man Tuesday morning.

The crash happened on Moores Lane at Pierson Place just before 6:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

According to police, a 19-year-old female, driving a black Toyota Corolla, was traveling southbound on Moore’s Lane. While at the intersection of Moore’s Lane at Pierson Place, the she turned left onto Pierson Place and was then struck by a 2005 Harley Davidson Softail (Motorcycle) ridden by 29-year-old, Seth Hoffman.

Police say the 19-year-old driver remained at the scene and was interviewed by the officers. She was then transported to a local area hospital where she was treated and released for minor injuries.

Unfortunately, the motorcycle operator, Seth Hoffman was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators at the scene believe that impairment does not appear to be a factor.
