One shot critically after large fight breaks out near Minquadale

According to investigators, a large crowd was in the area fighting when the 25-year-old male victim from New Jersey was shot multiple times.

NEW CASTLE (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Delaware State Police are investigating after a New Jersey man was shot multiple times near Minquadale early Saturday morning.

Police say the shooting happened Saturday just after 1:30 a.m. on N. Dupont Highway at E. Hazeldell Avenue.

According to investigators, a large crowd was in the area fighting when the 25-year-old male victim from New Jersey was shot multiple times.The victim was transported to a local area hospital and admitted in critical condition.

Police say there is no suspect or surveillance photographs available at this time.

This case remains an active and ongoing investigation conducted by the Delaware State Police Troop 2 Criminal Investigative Unit. Troopers are asking anyone who has information regarding this case to contact Detective Brian Timmons by calling 302-365-8434.
