One dead, one in stable condition following Chestnut Street shooting

Police say the incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.

WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: A 19-Year-Old is dead and a 23-Year-Old is in critical condition after gunfire rings out on a corner street in Wilmington.

Police say they are investigating the shooting that occurred around 9:20 p.m. Sunday night. 

Patrol officers arrived and located the victim, a 23-Year-old man who was transported to a local area hospital but died shortly after.
 
At the hospital, a 23-year-old man who was also involved in the shooting incident arrived with gunshot wound (s) and is in stable condition.

Update: On Tuesday September 14, 2021, police identified the victim as Jalel Jennings.
 
Police say the incident remains under investigation and further details will be released when possible.
