Murray Manor Trailer Fire intentionally started, State Fire Marshal’s say

Although there were initial reports of an entrapment inside the trailer, investigators said there were no injuries.

MILL CREEK (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: A Fire that heavily damaged a Murray Manor trailer home Thursday night was intentionally started according to the Delaware State Fire Marshal’s Office.

“The fire was deliberately started, and the criminal investigation is ongoing.,” Said Chief Deputy Fire Marshal Robert Fox.

It happened just before 9:30 p.m. when the Mill Creek Fire Company responded to the 200 block of Third Avenue in the trailer park which is near Old Capitol Trail. Investigators say fire fighters arrived with smoke pouring from the trailer.

Multiple other fire companies including Mill Creek, Cranston Heights, Belvedere, Minquas of  (Newport), Hockessin, Elsmere, and Five Points fire companies were also called to the scene to assist with extinguishing the fire.

Although there were initial reports of an entrapment inside the trailer, investigators said there were no injuries.

Deputy Fire Marshals were called to the scene to investigate the origin and cause of the fire and determined that the fire was deliberately started.

The fire caused approximately $20,000 in damage., Fox said. The fire remains under investigation.
