The victim was treated at the scene by medics and EMS before being transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.
WILMINGTON (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: Wilmington Police say they have arrested and charged a 15-year-old boy in connection with an accidental shooting incident that took place yesterday afternoon.
Police say on Thursday January 20, 2022, at approximately 3:45 p.m., police were dispatched to the 200 block of West 30th Street, where officers located a 14-year-old male suffering from a gunshot wound inside of a residence.
The victim was treated at the scene by medics and EMS before being transported to a local area hospital in critical condition.
Although the shooting incident was accidental in nature, a 15-Year-Old male who was also at the scene at the time of the shooting was placed into custody by the officers. He was later charged after a Detective identified him as the suspect.
Investigators charged the 15-year-old male with Assault (First Degree), and possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited. He was then arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released on $22,500 unsecured bail.
