Good Samaritan assists teen shooting victim in Wilton Friday afternoon

When officers arrived they found a 16-Year-Old boy suffering from several gunshot wounds and a stranger who was comforting and rendering aid to him.

NEW CASTLE (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF:  A Good Samaritan assisted a teen shooting victim Friday afternoon in the Wilton community New Castle County Police say.

Police say they were called to unit block of Sophia’s Place around 1:30 p.m. for a report of a subject that had been shot, but when officers arrived they found a 16-Year-Old boy suffering from several gunshot wounds and a stranger who was comforting and rendering aid to him.

Police say the teen had been shot in his upper and lower extremities and was treated at the scene by medics and EMS before being transported to a local area hospital in stable condition.

Police did not release any other information about the shooting but Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. Investigators say the investigation is still in its early stages and very active.
