Victim Critically wounded following Overlook Colony Shooting

Investigators say the investigation is ongoing; however, they are confident that they have identified the participants, and additional updates will follow.

CLAYMONT (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: New Castle County Police are investigating a shooting in the Overlook Colony community that left a 20-Year-Old man in critical condition Wednesday night.

Police responded to calls about the shooting around just after 10:00 p.m. and patrol officers were dispatched to the scene at Commonwealth Avenue and Brandywine Avenue, in the Overlook Colony neighborhood.

Officers arrived and located a 20-year-old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his torso, police said in a news release.  The victim was transported to a local area hospital where he was listed in critical condition.

Detectives from the New Castle County Division of Police Criminal Investigations Unit arrived at the scene and assumed the investigation. Investigators say the investigation is ongoing; however, they are confident that they have identified the participants, and additional updates will follow.
