Couple escapes serious injury after bullet struck their windshield

The pair was traveling near the One Stop Shop on White Oak Road in a white Kia Optima when shots were fired.

DOVER (DE) BY DIGITAL STAFF: The Dover Police Department is investigating a shooting incident that occurred on Tuesday morning near One Stop Shop on White Oak Road in Dover.

Police say officers responded to a parking lot of a business in the 500 Block of North DuPont Highway after a 19-year-old female and 18-yar-old male reported being shot at.

The pair told police that they were traveling near the One Stop Shop on White Oak Road in a white Kia Optima when shots were fired from an unknown location by and unknown suspect. During the chaos, one round struck the occupied vehicle in the rear passenger side window and exited through the front windshield.

The victims then fled to the parking lot where they called and met police. No injuries were reported by either victim, police said.
