2022-Bruce Wright (33) 03/24/22: At approximately 3:50 p.m., troopers responded to Senator Avenue for a reported shooting. The investigation determined Bruce E. Wright, was seated in the driver seat of a vehicle parked on Senator Avenue when Marcus Bailey, 18, of Wilmington, entered the backseat of the car. Marcus engaged in a conversation with the Bruce before demanding his property. At some point during the encounter, Bruce was shot in the upper torso. Marcus fled the vehicle in an unknown direction of travel. Bruce was pronounced deceased at the scene.

03/29/22: Through investigation, the suspect was identified as 18-year-old Marcus Bailey. On Saturday, Bailey was taken into custody during a traffic stop in the Long Neck Wawa parking lot. Bailey is being held at SCI on a $1.12 million cash bond for first degree murder, first degree robbery, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of a firearm by a person prohibited, and carrying a concealed deadly weapon.
