WILMINGTON, DE (DNTV): Wilmington Police have arrested a Newark man in connection with a shooting incident that took place yesterday.
On February 7 at approximately 1:25 p.m., police were dispatched to the 800 block of West 10th Street in reference to a shooting incident that had taken place. Police located a 27-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
25-year-old Jadeson Smith of Newark identified by investigators as a suspect, and was taken into custody without incident a short time later by members of the Street Crimes Unit.
Smith has been charged with Assault (First Degree), Possession of a Deadly Weapon During the Commission of a Felony, Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited, Criminal Mischief Over $1,000, Discharging a Firearm on a City Street, a Possession of Marijuana.
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $51,200 cash-only bail.
