The Delaware State Police are investigating a homicide that occurred yesterday morning in Bridgeville.
BRIDGEVILLE, DE (DNTV): On February 17, 2023, at approximately 9:13 a.m., officers from the Bridgeville Police Department responded to Champions Drive in Heritage Shores to check on the well-being of a 57-year-old woman who was residing there.
Police say family members were concerned for the victim when they were unable to recently contact her, and contacted police to check on her welfare.
Police say Bridgeville Police Department officers were dispatched to the residence, and when officers entered the home, it was there that they found the deceased woman.
Police say it appeared that she was the victim of a homicide and the Delaware State Police Homicide Unit assumed the investigation at the request of the Bridgeville Police Department.
Detectives were attempting to locate the victim’s missing vehicle, a silver 2017 Mercedes-Benz GLS bearing Delaware vanity registration “YCANTI.”, but have since located and recovered the vehicle. The car was found unoccupied in Philadelphia by the Philadelphia Police Department.
No suspect information is available at this time., police said.
Identification of the victim is pending notification to her family and relatives.
The Homicide Unit is still actively investigating this incident and Detectives are asking for anyone with information regarding this case to contact Detective D.
