WILMINGTON, DE (DNTV): The New Castle County Division of Police, Criminal Investigations Unit, has charged Victor Alamo, Jr., a 35-year-old male, with attempted murder and firearm related charges after he discharged a firearm at a victim yesterday morning.
On Thursday March 16, 2023, at approximately 7:18 a.m., police say officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Valley Road for the report of a shots fired complaint.
Officers located the scene and after contacting the 37-year-old victim, learned he was sitting in his vehicle when a male suspect approached him armed with a firearm.
The suspect discharged multiple gunshots police said, into the vehicle prior to fleeing from the scene in a light- colored sedan.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Unit assumed the investigation and identified Alamo as a suspect. An arrest warrant was issued and all attempts to locate him were unsuccessful.
However, police said on Friday March 17, 2023, at approximately 10:00 a.m., Alamo turned himself into police headquarters at the Cpl. Paul J. Sweeney Public Safety Building where he was arraigned and committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on a $1,060,000 cash bail.
